Five years from now, I see myself being a young, up-and-coming teacher about to make his mark on the educational landscape. Whether that means taking up some leadership position in a big city, or influencing the lives of students one classroom at a time- it’s too early to say. What I can say is that being a great teacher is what I want to pursue right now and I know the road ahead is shaped with that goal in mind. However, there are other goals that I’d like to meet along the way.
At the moment, I have a lot of things I want to do and not enough time to do them all. I can only imagine that in the next five years, I’ll be doing something pretty similar to what I do today -chasing what I love and helping those I can along the way. I love running so I hope I’ll have completed at least one marathon in the next five years, maybe even the NYC Marathon if I can. I’d like to say that I’ll have a six pack by then, but that one might be a bit more of a reach – I love food too much, especially after runs. Guitar, piano and music in general have been a great addition to my life in recent years so I hope to become a more confident amateur– the kind that are brave enough to play at open-mic nights. I also expect my faith to grow because it’s pretty important to me now and it tends to mature over time as I do. And though it always seems unlikely because of time constraints, I would like the chance to travel abroad - with friends and family, or possibly even solo. And last but surely not least, I hope to continue to meet great people that will expand my horizons while simultaneously strengthening and deepening the relationships that already exist.
