There are many issues in America and in the world that I would like to see changed such as the poverty rate, human trafficking, and many more. But one problem that I would like to see change in the world is freedom of religion in other parts of the world.
Currently there is a pastor, Saeed Aberdini, who is an American citizen being held in Iran. He was arrested by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in July of 2012 when he went to Iran to open an orphanage. While there, his passports were seized and he was faced with charges relating to his Christian faith. He has faced solitary confinement, beating, aggressive interrogations, and stood trial in front of an Iranian judge. All of this because he has a different set of beliefs than the people of the Islam religion.
People should not be persecuted because of their beliefs, everyone should have the right to believe and have faith in whatever or whomever they choose. We may have freedom of religion in America but there are many other countries where individuals are not allowed to practice or express their religion because they could be imprisoned or possibly killed. This is one of the MANY changes I wish to see in the world.
