STEM is the acronym used when referring to the fields of study in science and science related subjects, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Some STEM subjects include medicine, agriculture, geology, psychology, IT, electricity transmission, telecoms, aerospace, motor mechanics, construction, statistics, and pure and applied mathematics. I've always found STEM classes to be my most enjoyable subjects throughout high school. The reasons being that I found them to be very interesting and understanding the material came easily to me. I personally find STEM fields to be very important because they consist of life saving professions, and careers that we need for our day to day living whether we realize it or not. STEM fields assist in developing individuals so that they can be competent and capable in such a technologically dependent society, and many individuals who work in STEM fields are paid well compared to other jobs. Students who are currently taking STEM classes should ensure that they pay close attention when in class and try their best to understand what is being taught. Also, students should take the time to look into the four STEM fields to see if there are any professions in those fields that appeal to them. The step after that would be to begin working towards knowing more about those professions so that one can possibly become their career. |
